| The recently released Pennington Group Report, published following the e-coli outbreak
in Lanarkshire has caused a lot of concern over the costs implications for food retailers. However
,HAIGHS of Workington fully support the reports guidelines and recommendations. David
Pearson said
"The report and its findings are long overdue. Quality food retailers such as
HAIGHS will have implemented most or all of the guidelines published in the report. I
appreciate that implementing the guidelines is not cheap. At HAIGHS we have already made
an investment of over £450,000 to ensure that our premises and procedures not only
meet these recently published guidelines, but EXCEED them.
The health and safety of our customers does not come cheaply, it comes first.
It's not for nothing when we say we are ...a step ahead."
