MEAT
STORAGE TIPS

Get meat home and into the refrigerator or freezer as quickly as
possible. |

When storing ensure meat is properly covered and always place raw
meat at the bottom of the fridge, which is normally the coldest area, so that it cannot
drip onto cooked food. |

Always thoroughly defrost meat before cooking, unless cooking
instructions state otherwise. Never refreeze thawed frozen meat. |

Once cooked, eat meat immediately. If this is not possible, keep it
hot until you are ready to eat. |

Ensure Leftovers are kept covered, cold meat should be returned to
the fridge immediately, Allow hot meat to cool before putting 'it in the fridge. |

Eat all Leftovers within two days |

Only re-heat previously cooked meat dishes once. Make sure they are
thoroughly re-heated until piping hot. |
